In the early 90s I lived in an apartment in a house from let’s say 1910 that had asbestos siding. It was styled to look like red brick. It actually looked decent on that house, from the street, anyway. Some pics here: https://blog.jimgrey.net/2014/12/10/a-place-to-start-3/
