interesting arched brick headers over the windows. I wonder if these are the original window frames of if the originals were arched, even if the sash were rectangular. That’s not uncommon and it would mach the gable. But that feels a little gaudy for this house!

Great observations. I noticed those, too, and wondered the same. This house is in East Randolph, VT, so maybe it would have been as simple as it is with the rectangular sash. Definitely the porch was out of place!
