are you sure it is plaster and not Lincrusta or Anaglypta wall paper?
Plaster has more detail than Anaglypta or Lincrusta. It’s a wonder it’s in such great condition.

Or composition, perhaps? Long, thin moldings in plaster are difficult to execute, let alone apply, intact. And, I wonder what the original paint scheme would have been for the surface. Just imagine the stunning look of a polychrome paint scheme!

Yes, I have. In fact I worked at Kenmore while at Mary Washington & I spent a fair amount of time cleaning the plaster ceilings with a toothbrush! I loved that place.
