    Wow… what would have been wrong with building a new bridge alongside this one and routing one-way traffic over each bridge? It would have let this great truss stand unmolested.

    The widened bridge looks quite magnificent in person. This treatment will assure that the historic truss bridge will continue to function as a highway bridge for decades to come. Kudos to Vtrans for seeking compromise and a solution that works for everyone.
