I like your archival photo of an easy bake oven. You realize I had that, right? And so did everyone else! The sad part was when you ran out of mixes, which of course they sold, and you had to convince your mom to buy more easy bake oven mix. Oh, commercialism at it’s finest–for kiddies!
Jen, I took that picture specifically because my sister always wanted an Easy Bake Oven but my mom never bought her one until a few years ago when she bought an Easy Bake Oven Christmas tree ornament. It didn’t have the same effect, and now it’s a family joke! So we never did have one!
Oh, man, you know I love a good schoolhouse! I can see what you mean about the kitchens exhibit, though — how do the details change over time?
