Downtown Pittsburgh Architecture

As I mentioned in yeserday’s post, the architecture of downtown Pittsburgh seems to contrast while complimenting itself.

The oral history conference has been busy, interesting, and educational so far. There is so much to write about, but for now just enjoy a few photographs.  I’ll get back to you shortly with oral hisory conference highlights!

I looked up and wow!

  1. Ellen Detlefsen says:

If you get the time, go check out the glass turrets and parapets of the PPG Place downtown (a Philip Johnson bldg)…..and look at the re-use of railroad buildings at Station Square (a short walk across the unique lenticular bridge over the Monongahela River….). The two early 20th century movie palaces that have been re-cast as concert halls (Heinz Hall and the Benedum Center) are also fun to look at….
